REI Education is Daunting
Hello fellow investors,
For a new person coming into the investing game, many investors say "Get educated". But the more I read, listen and learn, the more confusing and intimidating it gets.
Any suggestions on how to push oneself in to the pool of investing instead of being stuck on the diving board of fear?
Thanks :)

I would suggest to not rush. The reason it is overwhelming is because you don't know it/understand it. The more you learn the more it all starts falling into place and making sense.
I remember spending about 8 months studying, reading and attending investors meetings before I started looking for my first investment property. This of course was while holding a full time job.
I agree what James says about the goals but then again at the beginning since you dont' know what you don't know even setting a goal can be daunting. So your first goal should be to be able to put a plan for your investing and then take action on that plan.
Go out there and meet and talk to as many investors as you can and sign yourself up for as many meetings and classes at low or no cost as you can find.
There is no substitute for talking to people that have "been there, done that". Needless to say this site is a great resource. Make it a priority to spend an hour a day reading articles and participating in the forums. Don't ask questions unless you have looked up the answer first and cannot find it.
You might also want to read [REMOVED] where you can find a lot more tips (disclosure: that is my own website).
