New to Renting/Buying

Hello! My husband and I are just starting to look into purchasing a condo in the Clearwater/Largo area of Florida. The condo will mostly be rented out (or at least we hope it will) most of the year. We reside in Philadelphia and will look to use the condo for personal use during the summer months and every once in awhile during the rest of the year. We are not looking to make a fortune on the condo, but simply enough to cover HOH fees, taxes, and if possible, some of the mortgage. We have only ever purchased one home; the one we currently reside in here in Philadelphia. We love Florida and hope to move there permanently some day, but for now, we are content with knowing we could possibly purchase a condo in the Sunshine State.

As I explained, we are the very beginning of taking on this new endeavor, and are just starting to look into options, properties, locations, etc. My husband's worry is that we need a condo that is rent-worthy. Personally, we have rented through Airbnb for our own vacation use when visiting Clearwater, so I know properties will rent; however, how likely is it that a property located 15-30 minutes from Clearwater will rent? We cannot afford the Gulf View high rise condos, but are looking at condos nearby, closer to the Tampa Bay area (Largo).

If there is also somewhere else I can look for answers, please guide me in the right direction. Thank you all for your help!
