Acquiring a Title for abandoned property
So I found a property in my area that has been abandoned for a while. After checking the city's assessor site. I started to send letters to the owner, who lives out of state. My broker recently contacted me with info that the property was seized by local water and sewer for failure to pay back a couple years ago.
I reached out to registry of deeds about info on the property, but the gate keepers just sent me back to the site. I also contacted Water and Sewer company, about info on it not being the owner, they wouldn't give up any info.
If this property is truly abandoned, does anyone have info on how I would be able to acquire the title/deed to this property,or any property that has been abandoned?

Someone may know better than myself as I am only a new real estate broker in Washington state, and laws vary greatly by location, but I would encourage you to consult with a real estate attorney in your area. They may be able to point you in the right direction. Best of luck!
