Where should I start on my journey to successful REI?

Okay so I have started recently becoming more financially literate and career driven and I am looking for some advice. I am currently a server making 35k a year about to get married within a household income of 70K annually. I have recently started a financial plan to rid myself of 30k of debt in the next two years. I have been listening to Bigger pockets and started gaining interest in REI and general entrepreneurial businesses. I have some college education and currently just signed up for online classes majoring in business. I've started reading a lot of business and finance books lately. What advice would you give to someone like me that wants to within the next five years break into the world of RE and I have little to no knowledge of RE? How would I get started as far as what steps should I take to line myself upon the path to successful REI? Your thoughts......?
