Entry-Level Real Estate Jobs for Aspiring Real Estate Investor

Michael Wexler
Posted

Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping to receive some input on entry-level jobs to pursue for a recent college graduate (Economics Major) that would equip me with the skills needed to make it as a real estate investor down the line. I've bought into the ideas of financial freedom that Bigger Pockets has preached, however, I first want to find a stable job first in either a corporate or start-up atmosphere so that I can learn to be independent, be around other young & driven people, save, and most importantly learn about real estate. What sorts of jobs have people here done that they've found have been resourceful when moving to their own real estate investments down the line? I've applied to commercial brokerage companies and real estate fin-tech companies in my area (Los Angeles), but I'm trying to broaden my search. If I want to get into single-family and multi-family buy & holds down the line, what kinds of analytical roles would be good to pursue now? So far I've applied for positions in which I can learn to do underwriting, market research, financial modeling & statement analysis all of which have been on the commercial side. Thanks for taking the time to read!
