Advice to new serious Wholesalers

Hello all, I've been researching the Wholesale process for months. I've found distressed properties, I've found a few buyers around the DMV area, I've made a custom contract with myself added as the Wholesaler. I've even learned how to search the public assessment and taxation sites to get further info on the homeowners I intend to contact. I'm making my first cold call in a few days and honestly I'm nervous about the actual deal making process with potential sellers.

To all the wholesalers on biggerpockets, what was your first deal like? How many no's did you get before your first yes? How long did it take for the deal to close? Whether you have a success story or not, I'm open to any advice you may have to the new Wholesalers.
