I'm SERIOUS about getting started in REI
Good afternoon everyone. My name is Anthony. I'm from SC but now I stay in Charlotte, NC. I have been in the medical field for 4 years as a respiratory therapist. I got my real estate license in NC last year to get my foot in the door for real estate investing. I've been reading books, following post, watching YouTube videos, and much much more to get started. I need action behind my research and I'm looking for a mentor to help push me in the right direction. I don't have enough to put 20% down on a home but I'm getting better at finding the deals. I'm willing to " learn before I earn".
Best regards,
A. Hollis

Hi Anthony, if you do not have 20% down, outside from investors. You could look into an FHA mortgage (small down) and buy a duplex-4plex where you can live in 1 unit (so that you can save on mortgage/rent) while renting the other units out. This is how I started out when I was in college as I had little to no money. It takes some time but I felt it was a good start especially because it gave me time to learn more along the way. Also, the fact that I didnt have to pay rent or some of my utilities (because my tenants covered it), I was able to save money for larger down payment projects.
