Preparing to buy 1st Apartment

Hello,

I am a long time reader of these forums and it is nearing time that I will be purchasing my first property.

I'm posting because I wonder what I can accomplish in the meantime while I'm saving up my money. My plan is to purchase around the 1M range for  17+ doors in the Florida region.

What I've accomplished thus far is:

  • Developing relationships with commercial brokers
  • Developing relationships with financial advisors
  • Developing relationships with commercial bankers
  • READING EVERY BOOK EVER

But I feel like if I reach out to you all, someone can give a solid tip on what I may be missing. I don't want this time not purchasing to be under optimized.

I've looked into starting a Holding company prior to my first purchase, but that appears to be unwise at this point.

I've looked into meeting with property managers to discuss the options that will become available, but again, it's premature.

I've been actively seeking out mentors but there are no high-level multi-family investors in my extended network at this time (but I will never stop working towards finding one).

You all have been very helpful already, each post I read exposes me to issues and successes experienced by others.  Hopefully you all can help identify an area of activity I can tackle.

Thank you!
