Getting my first loan (trying!)

Dante Farres
Posted

I just recently tried to get into my first house hacking deal and was stopped short when I realized I may not be able to qualify for an FHA loan. This is due to a gap in my work history and lack of loan history in my name, I'm still fairly young and just got my first credit card a month or so back. Is there any advice you'd give to someone in my position? Should I sit back and wait a year or so for my credit to be better established? I don't have the funds to get into a home conventionally with 15-25% down which is why I was looking into an FHA loan. Are small local banks a good place to look for someone in my position?

Any thoughts or comments are helpful, just looking for the right place to start on this journey, thank you!
