I am new at this! Need Advice

I currently work a 9-6pm job and have tried my best to save up some money within the past (2) years. I have been trying to educate myself on Real Estate and think wholesaling might be my best option to start. 

I live in Los Angeles, California and have (2) children and desperately need to create another form income. 

Just looking for some guidance on how to get started? Do anyone know of any events where I can actually meet people who can offer me advice and point me in the right direction.
