Where Can I Find the MLS?

I just received my Colorado Broker's License. I'm currently inactive and exploring various options. But in the mean time, I was hoping I could search the Multiple Listing Service for my next rental unit. I've searched a ton for the site but it all seems to be generic house posting sites. Is the MLS only available to real estate companies or am I looking in the wrong place? I was under the impression that if I'm licensed (regardless if im actively selling with a firm) I would have access to the MLS, was I dumb for thinking this?

@Jason Cacioppo you need to hang your license with a broker who will then allow you to be part of a realtor board. There are many agents who do not have MLS access (commercial agents, leasing agents, property managers), and the MLS is a service that we pay for through our realtor dues to our local boards.
