Looking at Atlanta Properties

I am just starting out and thought Atlanta was a good place to start looking for rental properties. Is Atlanta a good area to look into or are there any other areas I should look at? Looking to network and discuss rental property deals in the Atlanta area in this forum. I would greatly appreciate anyone who I can network with on this topic or any other rental property deals they have found in other states. Thank you in advance!
