Beginner Investor Seeking Mentors

Izzy Khan
Posted

What advice would you give an aspiring investor without a real estate license who is searching for a mentor? That is the biggest thing I struggle with. From what I’ve learned so far, mentors are crucial in this business. I’ve tried to search for mentors via LinkedIn because that’s the only place where I can connect with real estate investors in my area. Are there better ways or strategies to finding the right mentor?

@Izzy Khan I think you are on the right path. Find a mentor. Thats a lot harder than it sounds. You can pay for them. 90% of the time the person you pay doesnt know what the hell they are doing. So be careful. I would suggest attending local real estate investment groups in your area every month and for many years. You will meet people and find someone you trust who is successful at what you want to do. Then ask that person if you can work for them for free a few hours a week. You have to give to receive. Very few successful people have the time to teach someone what and how they do things but by giving your time you will absorb from them their knowledge and if they are decent folks then at some point you will gain their trust and they will open up to you.  The hardest part is finding a successful person that you like and can trust their judgement
