Newbie relocating from TX to MD

My and husband currently reside in Killeen,TX we purchased our home 05/2017. I recently received a job offer in Frederick,MD and would like to turn our home here in TX to a rental property. I used my VA loan to purchase our home. We will also like to purchase a duplex in Frederick,MD or near Frederick. We're going to live in one of the unit for 1yr and then rent out both units. Relocating to MD in September. Any suggestions on how to get started?
