New inexperienced Wholesaler in Macomb

Hello BiggerPockets Community! My name is Devetrious and I'm a 21 year old wholesaler here in Macomb County, Michigan looking to officially start my Real Estate journey and land my first deal. I discovered Wholesaling, and specifically contract assignment, through a fortune builders event almost a year ago, but with little confidence and money invested in myself back then, I was scared to go out and actually apply the knowledge I had learned. Fast forward almost a year and I've very recently been laid off from my job of over 4 years and looking to learn and invest full time. My current plan of attack is Driving for Dollars and committing to attending a host of local REIA's to network and learn everything I can about my market. If there are any local wholesalers or other investors with experience and tips willing to invest even a small portion of their time in me to reply here it would be much appreciated. Thank you.
