What If you had no money, but all the time in the world?
Let's say today all your wealth & your network just disappeared. What would be the first thing you did and why? Really interested in hearing what most of you think is the best starting point to building your wealth from scratch in today's world.
Hi Cody,
Network as much as possible with like minded people who had not lost everything.
Dress decently and try to live in a reasonably upscale area.
Eat well, and to pass the time get some light exercise.
Have a reliable decent car.
Go to the driving range and hit balls, because it's less costly than 18 holes.
That's just off the top of my head.
If I had to start with nothing this is what I would do.
1. Join the easiest branch of the Military for a 2 year plus reserve commitment.
2. Get into a the highest paying job possible
3. Live and eat on base and live like a hermit and save all the money I could.
4. After 2 years become a police officer in CA $100,000 year salary (this field is hurting for people right now because of the political climate)
5. Put my name on the HUD good neighbor next door program buy a house for 50% and live there for 36months as required. Fix the place up add value in the mean time.
6 Work as much OT as possible and fix the place up to add value
7. After 36 months you can rent it out oar sell it and buy another.
During this time you should be living within your means and stocking away cash, analyzing deals and preparing for when a deal presents itself.
There is some sacrafice in this plan but if you have the drive and want to accomplish it,,,I see it as a feasible way for someone with nothing to make their financial life into something.
