FHA Appraisal Transferred to New Buyer-Without My Request
Hi everyone! I started this post as a request for advice but in the middle of typing, the answer came through and I thought I would share my experience to assist someone down the road.
I applied for a loan with Lender A and got towards the finish line and the loan was denied. I had already requested the appraisal but was denied because the lender didn't think I had sufficient income. My contract was cancelled but I moved on to a new lender (Lender B) and was still going to try for the same house and in the process of making that decision Lender B called to have the appraisal transferred. Lender A advised that someone else from Quicken called to have my case transferred to them. I called up Lender A to request a refund of my appraisal fee and was told they didn't know anything about the transfer and I need to contact Quicken to see about a refund......how? How would they expect me to contact Quicken when Quicken knows nothing of me, but I continued to play dumb and did some research. Nevertheless, my appraisal fee is being refunded to me because I found info on line that clearly states what they did was wrong. So I hope this helps and even though I lost that house, I will get my money back from the appraisal fee.
