Ambitious 16-year-old with many questions!
Dear Members of the Biggerpockets Forums.
Hello, my name is Christian, I am 16 years old and live in Norway. I have a girlfriend, she is a U.S Citizen and we share the same interest: to own a lot of rental units. We have both talked about me moving to the U.S, and this is why I am posting this. And, just to add some information: I have currently saved up $14,600, in four years, I will have an additional $55,000 which sums up to around $70,000 by 20 years of age. I am allowed to live in my parent's other apartment for $100 until I am 25 years old. I expect to have around
$350,000 by the time I turn 25.
So here are the following questions about immigration- and real estate-related-stuff
- How can I possibly get permission to work and live in the U.S, permanently without any form of corporation helping me out?
- If I manage to get some kind of Visa to allow this, could I even get a mortgage or do an FHA-loan?
- What are my chances of actually making it? I heard it is extremely difficult for a Norwegian citizen to move to the U.S.A.
- Will me being an electrician effect any of this?
- I am quite handy since I am an electrician apprentice, will this be very useful in this business?
- Do you guys recommend any kinds of books? I have read the intelligent investor (more of a stock-market-book) and Rich Dad Poor Dad (Changed my mindset, completely).
- Are those savings I put further up good for the age, or should I aim for more? (the numbers are quite conservative considering my situation)
DISCLAIMER: I know because of my young age, some people may try to pull my legs--I am not looking for a mentor AND I will not look into any deals before I turn 18.
Thanks a lot if you took the time to read this, and hopefully answered some of my questions!
Sincerely,
Christian
