Hello everyone,

As you can tell from my post I am having the hardest time controlling my emotion worse than when I was in high school and the girl I really really liked liked me back! Lol

My phone rings and Im excited having a really good conversation capture lead see all the potential run comps then I'm like booooo numbers don't make since. I find a property numbers make since pictures look like a modest rehab go see property basement flooded been like that for months and it needs a full gut rehab my luck right?

Oh yeah find great lead get it under contract and I cant find a buyer annnnd contract expires now I look like a loser.

I know im just getting started and these are the hard knocks is anyone else dealing with these influx of emotions?

Hi Roderick,

These emotions are normal for everyone, especially if you are just starting out. You are dealing with money and lots of it.  The idea of scoring big on a deal is a rush and creates fantasies in your mind.

What you need to do is not allow your highs to become too high and lows too low.  You need to focus more on the process of getting the leads and closing them and less about the money.  The more you focus on the actual process the less emotional you will be.  Money is emotional so don't think about that.

In real estate sales, I can always tell who was emotional and the rookies in the office.  They would get all excited when they have a deal in contract or a listing agreement signed and the be so bummed out when the deal cancels.  The pros in the office don't change their mood at all.  We know the deal doesn't mean squat until I see a closing check from the title company.  You should apply the same mentality.  You ain't got squat until a check is in your hand.
