Any advice on Cities to Airbnb a rented apartment/home

I am looking into cities that are favorable from a regulatory standpoint and a ROI standpoint that might be good for Airbnb. I am open to purchasing the apartment/home but am interested in anyone has any experience leasing a home/apartment and then putting the home up on Airbnb for short term rentals while not living there. If you have, please let me know. Would love to learn more! Thanks!
