Looking at pursuing the a real estate investment trust as our first business venture into real estate and understand that there are a few key areas to assess... but thought I'd throw the question out to see what other folks think are the important factors? How did you get started in REIT? Pros and cons? Discussions/groups/meetups in DC, MD or VA area if I want more insight into the topic?
