I'm close to graduating high school and want to pursue a career as a real estate agent. Is it worth jumping straight to a very competitive market like Southern California, or begin somewhere easier like Phoenix or Las Vegas? (I like the West Coast)
Also, what steps do I need to take to become an agent, do I need any kind of college degree or is passing the course enough?

Las Vegas is competitive. 15k licensees for a city of just over 2 million. The cable guy, cabbie, plumber, inspector are realtors. LOL
