Investor Friendly Realtor - Advice for New Investors

Justin Green
Posted

Hello,

I have recently began to take my first steps into the real estate investing world where I am currently seeking as much information as possible before officially taking the dive in. I have been reading books, listening to podcasts and crunching numbers.

One major question I have is how important is it that you find an investor friendly realtor? I purchased my first home (condo) in Seminole, FL this past February and went through a number of realtors in the process that were not interested in working with a first time home buyer like myself. I personally wanted to buy a single family home, preferably in foreclosure and/or in distress and fix it up as my first home but found that every realtor I spoke with was not willing to put the time into helping guide me through that process.

As an investor, have you all had to really seek out specific realtors or have you generally been able to partner with just about any realtor in your local market?

To add context to my initial home purchase, I had about 10k for a down payment, a decent paying job (50-100k) and a 750+ credit score. I was often told that my "buyer profile" is not what they would've liked to have seen. Should I expect that to be the case moving forward as an investor or what exact is a realtor looking for before partnering with an investor?

I am excited to connect with you all!

Thank you,

Justin
