REI without dealing in interest. Is that possible?

I am just starting out in REI and have been trying to educate myself and working on getting my first deal. Due to my faith (Islam), I am precluded from dealing in interest. Other than buying with cash and getting cash investors (might be impossible for a newbie) how else can one finance properties?

Someone might say, “you’re trying to get into the wrong business” but there are a couple of companies I know that help Muslims purchase SFHs and structure the mortgage in an ‘acceptable’ way. But I would like to know if such exist for REIs or if there are strategies that can work around this.

Thanks
