Business checking at a Credit Union

I tried to open my first business checking account today for my new LLC at a credit union. Filling out the forms, I came to the "owner" section. I wanted the owner of the account to be the LLC. My credit union assistant informed me that the owner must be a member of the credit union, and members of the credit union must be people. I thought the whole point of a business account was that it is owned by a business entity rather than a person. I walked out and will try at a real bank. Am I not understanding something, or is this a limitation of credit unions?
