Investing in Real Estate w/ FT Job

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to start investing in real estate while still working a full time job.

  • 26 years old
  • Living in Los Angeles
  • 65k salary
  • 781 credit score
  • Can invest about 5k comfortably (have 10k in 401k I don't want to touch yet)

I live in Westchester near LAX, so property near me is very expensive. My goal is to eventually own enough rental properties to generate passive income (10k+ a month). What are some good routes I can potentially take to get started? I've explored out of city/state investing, preforeclosures, foreclosure auctions. Just not sure where to start exactly. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

-Matt
