Where to invest if you expect future relocation

David Easley

My wife and I are both under just 30 and excited to get started in investing. Based on our age, we're thinking that at some point, a relocation is likely. We have built up some capital and are thinking through where our market is.

I'm curious to hear thoughts on how important it is to buy properties physically near you? And then how challenging is it to maintain properties after a move? Has anyone on here relocated after investing in an area? Do you try to sell out and reinvest, or just keep your investments and be spread across multiple markets?

Maybe more simply asked: If you're young and expect to relocate, how do you think through where to invest?
