Insight on online banking institutions: Trust or Not to tust

My wife and I are starting our real estate journey.  We are considering getting a business line of credit on our rental property in the states.  We are living abroad.  We would like to know of any experience the members here may have concerning international online banking (1st internet bank).  There is a broker who is really aggressive.  His numbers sound good, but I am leery of working with someone I can't put a finger on.  I would like to use a local bank.  What are your thoughts?
