How do I ask a family member for investment money?

My wife and I are getting started with investing in Birmingham, AL.  We are planning to start flipping and transition over to long term rentals in 3-5 years.  We own our home but don't have much equity built up yet so we are looking for other options to finance our first deal.  Our extended families have some cash reserves that would be just the catalyst we need to get started on our first flip deal.  Neither of us like asking for money (kind of a pride thing I guess) but that is the main thing missing from our business plan at this point.  How do we present the investment opportunity without sounding like we are begging for cash?

Thanks for your help!
