Investing American real estate as a foreigner.

Good day all

I am a South African currently working in America seasonally. I have over the past two years accumulated a fair amount of dollars that I have kept here in the States. I have been wanting to invest in real estate back home but due to the political state of our country I am no longer wanting to do so. 

I am asking for any advise on how to get started in real estate in the US as a foreigner?

I have been slowly educating myself on real estate and have a huge interest and strong motivation to get going on this journey.
