As a future investor, would it be beneficial to become an agent?

As I delve into to possibilities of real estate investments, I am positive that it is the direction I want go with my future. I have been educating myself with any spare time I can find and am growing more and more excited! I am not sure what niche will get me started but the immediate question that I keep asking myself is, "Should I get my Real Estate license?" The education that you obtain prior to receiving your license seems very useful and networking would also be easier. However, having to disclose that you are an Agent may be disadvantageous. Are you in any way legally bound to your broker? Would I run into any tricky marketing issues?
