Can a Roommate Dispute Hurt my Plans in Real Estate Investing?

Hello everyone! I'm a young engineer looking to start investing in real estate. My worry is that a roommate dispute may hurt my chances of borrowing money from banks. I signed a lease with roommates but never lived in the property because the MLS said it had 3 bathrooms when in reality it had 2.5. The landlord/realtor claimed they were not responsible for the "mistake." The landlord will not report me because the rent is still getting payed by my very high income roommates. I've offered to pay 3 months of rent for them to take me out of the lease but they refuse. If my roommates decided to take me to court for not paying my share, can this hurt my chances with lenders in the next couple of years? Please help!
