Beginner: Note Investing vs Buy & Hold

Is note investing a viable option as a beginner, or should I invest in my first property (buy and hold), ideally a house hack? I don't have a lot of capital to work with, but should gain a decent amount by the end of this year through savings. I really want to diversify myself within the marketplace but I assume that I should focus on a specific niche initially. Any insight would be appreciated!
