Starting Out Question!

Hello everyone,

So I am new here and the first question I have is regarding 401ks and self directed IRAs. I know the benefits of a self directed IRA but is it worth it as far as real estate investing goes? My employer does not match 401k contributions at all so I feel like I should stop funding that. Am I right in my thinking? I am open to any and all responses and articles you may have to help educate me.

@Ryan Baker If you take the route of SDIRA, consult with your tax advisor on such thing as unrelated business income tax. Your SDIRA may get hit with it if you purchase real estate with financing. A better alternative would be to open a solo401k, but you need to have a business for it.

Best!
