Very interested in real estate investing, but where do I start?

My name is Connor Sullivan, I am a recent mechanical engineering grad and currently the wellhead manufacturing engineer for a up and coming oilfield company.

I was doing research on ways to make money efficiently, and real estate investing has peaked my interest. I can honestly say that this a something that I would like to pursue into the near and distant future so that this becomes my primary source of income. However, my knowledge in the subject is next to nothing. So, where do I start???

Any help or 'kick' in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I am here to learn, make friends, and expand my knowledge in the real estate investing world so that I can TAKE ACTION ASAP to secure a better future for myself, and aid in helping my parents retire early.

Connor Sullivan as an engineer I would say leverage your job and use that to make money. Try to do more passive or as little hands on stuff as you can.
