Positioning for Private Lending

I'm just getting started so be nice to me. ;-)

That plea might work on this forum, but when it comes to private lending, what can I do to position myself for that? I'm mainly thinking of activity to help people feel more confident in me - like being a member of the local REIA or getting an RE license. If I have a proposal document, what should I put in the Bio/Why-You-Should-Invest-With-Me section?
