Just starting out in real estate investing

Hello everyone, I just got recently hooked on the real estate idea, really want to start the ball rolling. I got 800+ credit, W2 job and about 30K to start with. I’m very interested in getting a multi family rental property, but I bought a big liability about 7 months ago (I wish I knew then what I know now). I also have a family of 6 which may or may not affect the flexibility of exploring different options. I live in Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Would love to get some advice on what the best approach to take.
