Feedback from seasoned investors
I am 21 years old, almost 22. I'm currently working on my real estate license and will be moving home (from ellensburg, my college town) to Puyallup, WA to start my real estate career in September once I have enough money to support myself. I'm very interested in real estate investing as well and want to begin by purchasing my first property as a duplex to live in half and rent half out within 2-3 years. Once I start as an agent, I will be actively learning the market in general and for my own future purchase of a rental property. My goals are centered around steady, long term wealth building. I do not care to be a millionaire by 25. But rather to have made smart long term investments early so that by the time i'm 35,40-50 I have a large net worth and can possibly retire young. I contribute monthly to a ROTH IRA and am saving most of my money (I am fairly frugal) to support my beginnings as an agent and to eventually invest in real estate as I mentioned. Currently, I've just learned of bigger pockets and listen to a podcast a day during my workout and will be looking into other benefits of the site. I know a small time real estate investor here in Ellensburg who has allowed me to shadow him. Im just working on learning and making connections early on and will be looking for investors in Puyallup to connect with when I make the move home to start as an agent... looking for any advice/feedback/tips/anything at all about my plan based on my age and area I'll be in. Something else I should be doing now? Something I don't know and should know? etc.
Thanks in advance!!!
