Austin TX - Wanting to get started in RE investing
Hello, my name is Juan, 30 years old, and I've been living in Austin for 5+ years and want to start down the RE investment path in the austin and surrounding areas. Still renting and saving up for first home but slowly gaining knowledge about the correct steps in this journey.
Besides soaking up as much knowledge as BP has to offer and attending meetups (both of which I'll be ramping up) what other advice would you give someone in my position?
If there are any locals that need extra help with their RE in exchange for letting me pick their brain I'd be very willing to come help you out!
A second option is a lunch meeting. If anyone likes getting free lunch out there in exchange for some advice, please let me know!
Thanks,
Juan

@Jesse Kim thanks!
@Rachel H. thank you!
@Marcus Maloney since I'm just starting out I'm trying to decide that. Part of what I'm trying to learn is what the best strategy is here locally. I've always felt like I wanted to do a combination of rentals and flips but is that the best way to get started in a saturated market like austin? All these questions is why I'm here at the beginning of this journey. If you were just starting out, would you start the same way you did? Would you take a different road?
Thanks @Fradel Schaechter that's great advice!
@Scott Fehrenkamp what's up man? Perhaps a beer is in order soon!
@Joshua Dees i agree with you, I'd just like to make sure there's a best path to take with all the local variables taken into account. Same question i asked Marcus but, If you were just starting out, would you start the same way you did? Would you take a different road?
