Finally joined the forum

Hello everyone. I have been a lurker for about 6 months but now finally transitioned into a member. My eyes have been opened by my coworker that a true wealth is in real estate and for over a year I have been reading about how to start investing in RE. He's a member here and he suggested that I start reading blogs and listening to podcast. Somehow I still got lured into attending those free seminars that lead into paid 3 day workshops that were nothing more than a very long infomercial. I came into a conclusion that the best route for me is to read, listen and pick someone's brain who have done it before. That's the reason why I joined this great website because it is full of helpful information. I am looking forward to read more blogs and join in the discussions. Hopefully someday to also join a local club and build relationships with great people who can help me kickstart my REI journey.
