New Member Intro - US citizen living overseas seeking advice

Hoping for some honest constructive criticism/advice.

I'm a US citizen living overseas. I come stateside every 2-2.5 months. I'm interested in investing in the city (and surrounding areas) I last lived in and have a trusted realtor and a few contractors/handymen. I have a credit score of 697 but no US income other than regular child support. I'm possibly starting an online business soon and registering it in the US but that hasn't happened yet.

Is real estate investing possible for me? I'm confident it is but I'm reaching out to see if I'm being practical.

If so, should I start with flips or rentals?

I watched Brad Turner's most recent webinar: Evaluating Offers on February 28, 2018 and one of the things he recommended was to commit so I have. I have reached out to the realtor and she is on board.

Any other constructive advice? Thanks in advance.
