Wholesaling for building initial capital. Is it worth it?

Hello there,

We are newbie RE Investors, trying to figure out pretty much everything real estate related from ground zero. I have come across multiple cases where investors have used wholesaling as a stepping stone before adopting other strategies (buy and hold, flipping, etc), especially people with very less capital to start with. However, wholesaling itself, seems to be a very time intensive strategy, especially for beginners.

Our eventual goal is to generate cashflow via passive strategies such as buy-hold and I'm wondering if wholesaling is worth the time and effort (for building capital) rather than just focussing and working straight towards our long term goal of buy-hold?

Thoughts? Opinions?
