Door Knocking - I buy or I Assign

Hello BP community. I have been working for a wholesaler/Investor for a little over a year as an assistant, and I listen to and read as many blogs, podcast, & books about Real Estate Investing that I can get my hands on. I am going to start looking for my own deals by door knocking on the weekends (In a different market than my current boss). I would love some advice on how I should approach the homeowners knowing I cannot myself purchase their property for cash, but I can find buyers who would like to purchase in cash. My thinking is to simply approach and say (not in these exact words) if you are interested in selling I work with a lot of investors who will buy your house cash, and lock up an assignment contract with the homeowners (Being as transparent as possible). I think honesty is always the best policy, but I also know other investors who say they will buy the house in cash but really just assign it to another investor. So, does it matter what you tell the homeowner in regards to who is purchasing the home?
