17 year old getting his feet wet with Real Estate Investing
Hi. I'm a 17 year old, 12th grade high school student in NYC, NY. I've been lurking on the website, gathering information and decided to get into real estate so I made an account today. I decided to go to a Community College to save money financially but since I didn't know what to major in, I've been on a major-searching-craze. Against computer science or finance, I chose finance and decided to look at the real estate business.
I did a little bit of research but i'm still uneducated with the terms experts use. I tried to look for meetup events in NYC but there doesn't seem to be much and even if there is, they are too far from me or they require a fee to attend.
I don't have any friends or family members to ask because my friends are too busy with work and most of them are going after a Nurse, Lawyer, Police, or any profession unrelated to the real estate business. My family is not into real estate so they are not an option for asking. My last option is biggerpockets for the community's help and mentoring.

Hey Aeron, welcome to BiggerPockets!
It's awesome that you know what you want to do this early in life. Just stay motivated and I'm sure you'll be successful.
One tip I can give you is there are great resources to learn about real estate investing online for free. BiggerPockets is a great one. I'm also a big fan of audiobooks since they are pretty convenient to listen to when you have free time. If you're able to spend a little bit per month to get an Audible membership, check out the books ublished by BiggerPockets as well as the books people mention on the podcast. A cheaper alternative would be to search on YouTube for real estate audiobooks which people have uploaded for free; the selection is smaller than Audible, but you can't beat the price.
