Investing while living in nyc , where do I start ?

Hey everyone! I want to begin my investing career but not sure where to start , I have 32k saved up cash not in the bank , I have a w2 job only making 300/week ( I make another 400-500 in cash) . With that kind of income and only 32k saved up I can’t afford to invest in nyc at the moment , my ultimate goal is to have enough rental properties to not have to work anymore . What areas do you guys suggest I look at while living in nyc ? moving out of nyc is not an option . What bank would you suggest I slowly start putting the money in ? Any input / advise would be appreciated .
