Newbie trying to learn a lot!

Hello Everyone! My name is Shanice Lawrence. I'm VERY new to real estate investing and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. However, I need some advice. I've been attending a lot of seminars that claim to "teach about investing" and "starting out" but for some odd reason, I feel like the seminars are all based on these people making a sale. I don't know if it's because I've been doing sales ever since I've started working, but the seminars definitely sound more like a sales pitch and not an opportunity for me to actually learn where to begin... I still feel lost after the seminars.... Am I wrong? Should I buy the materials from these seminars? Should I continue to attend these seminars? Where does one actually begin? ANY feedback would be greatly appreciated! I would love to do my first flip by the end of 2018 but I understand that this might take some time. I'm studying very hard to get my real estate license because I was told that I needed that to flip homes AND that it would be cheaper in the long run. Again, any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you everyone! I look forward to learning from you all!
