Real Estate License

I have been wanting to invest in real estate for the longest but never actually knew where to begin, so I started reading lots and lots of books on the subject and eventually got my real estate license. My goal is to buy and flip homes and perhaps own a couple rentals in the future. My question to you all is did any of you get your real estate license to start out? Is there any advantages to having your license and how did you use these advantages to grow your business?
