Should I apply for internship to gain experience in Real Estate?

Hi All! I'm a newbie in real estate business, I'd like to gain experience in real estate business, to be familiar in this industry before I could invest in it and at the same time I need to have income to support my living too. Should I apply for an internship in real estate companies or where and what should I do to get started?
Thank you in advance for your sharing!
