Starting out in real estate

Hello everyone im excited to say that im brand new to the real estate world. I will be taking my state test for licensing soon and looking to get into the world of investing. Ive always been interested but didnt know where to start any advice would be extremely helpful for i am looking to build relationships with people who are experienced in the field as well as inexperienced ambitious people like me. I would really appreciate any help you guys could give me this is my first step toward my dream. I live in northern nj anyone in the area i would love to exchange information.
