Tips for new real estate investor

Hi, I'm new to BP and I've been thinking about getting into real estate investing for some time now. I want to know what are some of the things I should be aware of. What are my risks as a real estate investor? How hard is it to become a real estate investor with little to no money to start? What turns people away from becoming a real estate investor?

If I'm looking at a deal for a multifamily compound, what should I be weary of? What are some questions I need to ask? What are some tricks to mitigate risks as much as possible?

I apologize in advance for all the questions, and I truly appreciate the time and feedback I will receive from all of you guys. I hope these questions aren't too juvenile, but I want to learn as much as I possibly can. Thanks!

-Mike
